Responsibilities
You are a self-starter who can work with minimal direction, yet you know when to ask for help or input. You have a positive attitude, enjoy working hard, stay focused under pressure, and function well on a small team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be part of the production and prototyping team and will work closely with the engineering team. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Build electrical and mechanical assemblies from both detailed (production) drawings as well as back of the envelope (prototype) drawings.
Prepare as-built drawings, packing lists, and QC related documentation.
Perform QC on 3rd party and in-house components as well as assemblies.
Test electrical and mechanical assemblies.
Assist in collecting and interpreting test data.
Assist in updates to QA program and documentation.
Follow manufacturing best practices for the marine environment and robotics systems.
Design, set up, and maintain dedicated workstations, tools, and manufacturing jigs and tools.
Maintain, clean, and organize shop, inventory, and yard areas.
Required Qualifications
Student majoring in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related field
Career interest in pursuing one of the above areas
College GPA of 3.0 or higher
Excellent communication skills and command of written and spoken English
Experience with basic small hand tools
Desired Qualifications
Undergraduate junior or senior, or master’s degree candidate preferred
